About The Gentle Portion
This is The Gentle Portion: a quiet space for women seeking truth, rest, and hope in Jesus. Here, we come together to explore God’s word, uncover His gentle mercies, and find freedom from the confusion and emptiness of false beliefs.
The blog’s name was inspired from lamentations 3:24: “the Lord is my portion, says my soul, therefore I will hope in him.”
“Portion” reminds us that God himself is our daily sustenance, our safe inheritance, and our steady source of life. “Gentle” reflects the tender, humble way He meets us: softly, patiently, personally.
this space is for you if you:
love Jesus or want to get to know Him & the gospel
are curious about or have come out of new age practices and long to be rooted in truth
wandered in doubt or fear of being deceived again
have a heart quietly seeking jesus in everyday life despite heartache, trauma, and struggles you’ve faced
Here, you will find real and raw reflections, encouragement, Scripture, and gentle reminders of God’s presence and faithfulness. No judgment, no pressure - just quiet words to help you grow deeper in Him.
May this be a space where your soul can rest, your faith grows, and you are reminded: He is enough. He is gentle. He is your portion.
My name is Brooke, I’m the writer behind this little blog, thanks for being here. Here is little about me:
I came to Jesus in 2020 after walking through new age beliefs, and since then, I’ve been navigating the whirlpool of false beliefs and ideas that sometimes swirl, even around the church. Writing has always been where I feel closest to God, though it’s something I’ve often struggled to do. Over the past years, I’ve been on a journey of inner healing, learning to rest in God’s mercy, trust H guidance, and share what I’ve learned along the way. My husband and I have walked through many challenges together: three miscarriages, adopting my teenage brother into our home, and learning to lean on God through every season. While I haven’t entered full-on motherhood, I’ve experienced so many facets of it caring for others’ children, welcoming my brother into our home, and carrying life bring pregnant three times, though not in the way we had hoped. I know this is something not often talked about: many women dream of motherhood, and yet it doesn’t always unfold as planned. My hope is that this little blog can be a safe space where women who feel like moms in all the ways that motherhood shows up can feel understood, seen, and encouraged.
Here, I share my reflections, writings, and the insights life and Scripture have gifted me. May this little corner of the internet be a gentle place for you too, a space to rest, reflect, and grow closer to Jesus.
Let’s be friends.
